Two indigenous grapes with very different profile, are complementing each other to provide a very balance wine, pure expression of the Mediterranean character. Savoury, earthy aromas with a delightful herbaceous lift. Focused, bright palate full of red fruit with appealing notes of sour cherry and an underlying balsamic richness. Characterful and elegant with fine tannins and a long finish.
Casa Los Frailes takes the name as the Jesuit Friars used to live in the Estate during two centuries (XVII to XVIII). Since then, about 250 years ago, in 1771 Casa Los Frailes estate belongs the Velázquez family, managing the winery today in the 13th generation.
Casa Los Frailes pioneered organic farming, being certified already in the year 2000.
